Negative air containment set up for commercial mold remediation in an office building

Commercial Restoration

Commercial mold remediation in Northwest Arkansas

Mold in a commercial building is a liability question as much as a maintenance one. Surfco remediates under containment, documents the work, and supports third-party clearance testing so you have proof the problem is closed.

We find commercial mold most often behind vinyl wall covering, in mechanical rooms, above ceiling grid from slow roof leaks, and in HVAC systems running high humidity. By the time an occupant complains, the growth is usually well established inside the assembly.

Our scope is written to be defensible: containment with negative air and HEPA filtration, documented removal, antimicrobial treatment, drying verification, and support for independent post-remediation verification by a third party rather than by us.

Step by step

Commercial remediation protocol

  1. Assessment and moisture mapping

Growth located, extent defined, and the water source that caused it identified.

  2. Containment

Critical barriers, negative air pressure and HEPA filtration isolate the work zone from occupied space.

  3. Removal and treatment and verification and rebuild

Affected material removed and bagged out; remaining surfaces HEPA vacuumed and treated. Structure dried and verified, third-party clearance supported, finishes restored.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Can employees stay in the building during remediation?

Usually yes. Containment and negative air keep the work isolated. We schedule higher-disruption phases after hours where needed.

Do you provide clearance testing?

We coordinate it, but we recommend an independent third-party industrial hygienist perform clearance so the verification is not done by the contractor who did the work.
