Accessibility statement

Surfco Restoration & Construction wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We design and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Accessibility is built into the site's code rather than added through an overlay or third-party widget.

What we have done

Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
Text and background colours meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
Images carry text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
Headings, landmarks and form labels are structured so assistive technology can navigate them.
The homepage background video has no sound, can be paused, and does not play for visitors who have reduced motion turned on.
Pages reflow without sideways scrolling at 400% zoom and on small screens.
Our employment application is available in English and Spanish.

Testing

Each page is checked with automated tools and by hand, including keyboard-only navigation, zoom and reflow, and text-spacing adjustments. Automated testing cannot catch every issue, so we also rely on feedback from the people who use the site.

Known limitations

Some links open third-party services, such as Google Maps for directions and our social media pages. We do not control the accessibility of those services.
