Residential Restoration

Mold removal and remediation for NWA homes

Mold is a symptom. Removing the growth without finding the water that fed it just buys you a few months. Surfco remediates the mold and corrects the moisture source in the same visit.

Arkansas humidity does mold a lot of favors. Crawl spaces, bathrooms, HVAC closets, north-facing exterior walls and anywhere a small leak has gone unnoticed are where we find it most. Visible growth is usually a fraction of the problem: the rest is behind drywall, under flooring or inside the wall cavity.

We contain before we cut. Affected areas are sealed under negative air pressure so spores are not distributed through the rest of the house, and HEPA filtration runs throughout the work. Only then does removal start.

Step by step

Our remediation process

  1. Inspection and moisture mapping

We locate growth and, more importantly, the water source keeping it alive.

  2. Containment

Sealed barriers, negative air pressure and HEPA filtration isolate the work area.

  3. Removal and cleaning

Affected material is removed and bagged; salvageable surfaces are HEPA vacuumed and treated with antimicrobial.

  4. Dry, verify and rebuild

The cavity is dried to standard, verified, and drywall, texture and paint are restored.

Signs you may have a mold problem

  • A musty smell that comes back after cleaning
  • Staining or bubbling on drywall, baseboards or ceilings
  • Warped flooring or soft spots underfoot
  • Recurring allergy or respiratory symptoms indoors
  • Condensation on windows or visible growth around vents

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Does insurance cover mold removal?

Sometimes. If the mold results from a sudden covered loss that was addressed promptly, carriers often pay within policy sublimits. Long-term leaks and maintenance issues are usually excluded. We will tell you which situation you are in before you file.

Do I need a mold test?

Not always. If growth is visible and the source is known, testing rarely changes the scope. Where an occupant is symptomatic or a real estate transaction is involved, we recommend independent third-party testing so the clearance is not graded by the same company doing the work.
