Commercial building secured with emergency board-up after fire damage in Northwest Arkansas

Commercial Restoration

Commercial fire and smoke damage restoration

Every day a commercial building sits closed after a fire is revenue you do not get back. Surfco stabilizes the property immediately and runs cleanup and reconstruction on a schedule built around your reopening date.

Commercial fire losses involve more than the burn area. Smoke travels through return air, soot settles on inventory and equipment across the entire footprint, and suppression water creates a second loss underneath the first. We address all three in parallel rather than sequentially.

Inventory and equipment are inventoried, packed out and cleaned where salvageable. Structure is cleaned by material type, HVAC is decontaminated, odor is treated at the source, and our construction division carries the rebuild through certificate of occupancy.

Commercial fire recovery

  1. Secure and stabilize

Board-up, tarping, fencing and utility control within hours.

  2. Water and moisture control

Suppression water extracted and the structure dried to prevent a mold loss on top of a fire loss.

  3. Cleaning and deodorization

Structure, contents, equipment and HVAC cleaned; odor treated at the source.

  4. Rebuild

Full reconstruction with permitting, inspections and a schedule tied to your reopening.

Included in commercial fire response

  • 24/7 emergency board-up and site security
  • Inventory and equipment pack-out with itemized documentation
  • Ultrasonic and specialty cleaning for machinery and electronics
  • HVAC decontamination and filtration
  • Business interruption documentation for your carrier

What you get in writing

A line-item scope, photo documentation and a schedule before work starts.

Daily updates come from the project manager assigned to your job, not a call center.

Before we get there

  1. Do not re-enter until the fire department clears the structure.
  2. Leave soot alone. Wiping it grinds residue deeper into the surface.
  3. Do not run the HVAC system. It moves smoke into clean areas.
  4. Photograph what you can safely reach before anything is moved.

Questions we get asked

How quickly can we reopen?

It depends on scope, but we build a target reopening date into the schedule and phase work so unaffected areas can reopen first where code allows.

Can you clean equipment and inventory?

Often, yes. Ultrasonic cleaning, dry ice blasting and specialty solvents recover a great deal of machinery, fixtures and stock that looks like a total loss at first glance.

Do you work with our insurance and risk team?

Directly. We provide adjuster-ready documentation and coordinate with corporate risk management and property managers throughout.
