Commercial Construction

Commercial concrete in Northwest Arkansas

Concrete is the one trade where mistakes are permanent and expensive. Surfco pours slabs, pads, aprons, sidewalks and dock work to spec, with the prep and jointing that keep them from cracking two winters later.

Most premature concrete failure traces back to what happened before the truck arrived: subgrade compaction, vapor barrier, reinforcement placement and joint layout. We do not shortcut any of it, and we document the prep so you know what is under the slab.

We also handle repair and replacement: spalling, settlement, trip hazards and ADA compliance issues on existing commercial property.

Our concrete process

  1. Layout and prep

Grading, subgrade compaction, vapor barrier and reinforcement placed and inspected.

  2. Forming

Forms set to grade with joint layout planned for the slab's size, use and loading.

  3. Pour and finish and cure and joint

Placed, screeded and finished to the specified texture and flatness tolerance. Proper cure, saw-cut control joints and sealer where the application calls for it.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

How long before we can drive on new concrete?

Foot traffic is typically fine in 24 to 48 hours; vehicle traffic generally waits seven days, heavy truck traffic longer depending on mix and thickness. We give you specific numbers for your pour.

Can you pour in winter?

Yes, with cold-weather practices, heated mix, blankets and admixtures. We will tell you if conditions genuinely warrant waiting.

Do you repair existing concrete or only replace it?

Both. Where repair is the right call, we say so rather than selling a replacement.
